Just for Fun

About the Blog

Just for Fun, maintained by Jaemi, is meant to be just what it says. The idea was originally garnered from the kinds of things you might run into on personal blogs. Crazy websites, or interesting but odd facts and figures. The nifty gadgets occassionally encountered in Tech-related RSS feeds also sometimes seemed in need of being passed along. So this blog was born.

Know of some cool sites or fun games or neat gadgets? Send Jaemi a message or leave a comment, and we'll post it too.

About the Author

Jaemi became a Library Techie because it seemed to be what she grew into after having been in libraries since age 7, and having been rather glued to her computer since college. She's generally to be found buried in some computer/technology related reading or other, or busy updating the website.

Parental Advisory

About the Blog

Parental Advisory was started with the idea of being an always-on resource for parents with children on the 'net. It contains advice, input, warnings, how-to's, and other need-to-know information.

Parent, caregiver, or just plain concerned? If there are topics you'd like to see covered here, feel free to write Jaemi and let her know.

About the Author

Jaemi's spent a fair amount of time on-line, in earnest since about 1997, halfway through college. Most of her time spent on-line was personal in nature--making friends, chatting, blogging. Her hopes are to share with you her experiences, and the opinions developed through them, and the best advice she can offer given what she's dealt with and knows.

Seeking Search

About the Blog

The world of Search today is an ever-changing thing. Main-stay Google's offerings are always growing and changing, Yahoo and MSN are also adding new services and altering existings ones. New search engines sprout up weekly, some speciailized, others just seeking to do it better. Trying to keep up with them all can cause serious headaches. And trying to decide which is best, when, and why, can be even more problematic. And while the author makes no claims at being an expert, she can certainly search and write up her findings and present them to you. (At this time, generally one search-engine/month)

About the Author

Jaemi is "your Network Administrator, Computer Geek, Webmaster, and all-around 'nerd.'" She reads many magazines and RSS feeds in order to keep up with the latest happenings on the web---among them, search. Enter roll-your-own search services and Social Bookmarking, & search is becoming a whole new ball game. Seeking Search hopes to keep you astride of some of its changes and options.

Technically Speaking

About the Blog

Technically Speaking was one of our first blogs. Its goal is to bring technical news, tips, advice, and opinions, straight from your Techie to you. Reviews, gadget finds, website and software opinions, help and how-to's---these are all topics we hope to cover here. And unlike programming, which he hope to begin offering soon, this is Computer-related information that will be available to you at any time.

About the Author

Jaemi is a computer Geek on two sides: PC and Mac. She owns a Dell Inspiron and an Apple PowerBook and values each for its strong points. Given her plethora of subscriptions, paper and otherwise, she comes across a fair range of information, and knowing how overwhelming trying to stay in the know can be, began this blog to try to make it easier for you to do.

Teen Read, Teen Reviewed

About the Blog

TRTR is an idea that fit right into some concepts we've been mulling around for awhile. Teen Reviews can be rather sparse one the net, especially when also teen written. We hope for this to become a great resource for local teens, remote teens, schools, and more. New Feature This blog supports multiple languages. The default is English, but for users who join, your locale can be edited within your profile.

About the Authors

As the title states, the blog contains Book Reviews by local teens. Many of them are anonymous, posted by library staff from reviews we've received. Eventually there will be a web form for further submissions to be posted by us. Alternatively, the blog is open to registration, so any teens wishing to post their own reviews may do so (including non-Goshen teens). Library Staff will moderate if/as needed.

What We're Reading
